GRAB some tissues, because this is a tear-jerker.

Ellen DeGeneres was interviewing one of the survivors from the Orlando shooting when she surprised him with a visit from his idol, Katy Perry.

30-year-old Tony Marrero was shot four times in back at the Pulse nightclub on June 12 in what was the worst mass shooting in American history.

Tony was at the club with his best friend Luis, who was one of the 49 people killed during the shooting.

“We were just about to leave and as soon as we started heading to the door, that’s when we heard the gunshots,” Tony said to Ellen on her talk show.

“Me and Luis, we looked at each other and we just hit the ground. That’s the last time I saw him.”
Tony told Ellen that while he was recovering in hospital, he was inspired by Katy Perry’s song, Rise.

“The lyrics to that song are so powerful,” he said.
And that’s when Ellen revealed one of her trademark surprises.

“Have you met Katy yet?” she asked Tony. “You want to meet Katy?”
Tony turned around in shock to see Katy Perry walking towards the stage, both of them bursting into tears almost instantly.

“Your story is so inspirational,” the singer said to Tony after they composed themselves.

“I just want to say thank you for everything you do,” Tony said to Katy, “Your lyrics to that song helped me from the day I was in the hospital all the way to now.”

And there was still one surprise in store for Tony.

“I heard that you want to go to film school so I personally want to pay for your first year at film school,” Katy said to him.
