New York City’s former public housing liaison was charged with taking bribes and kickbacks, indicating that federal prosecutors are still pursuing criminal cases against allies of former Mayor Eric Adams.

Anthony Herbert, who was responsible for engaging with residents and leadership of the New York City Housing Authority, was arrested Tuesday morning and charged with bribery, fraud and other offenses, prosecutors said. Adams himself had faced corruption charges before they were controversially dropped by the Trump administration last year.
