‘Single parent’: Star blasts famous ex

The 34-year-old rapper discussed how being a single mum changed her life during an appearance on Jesse Tyler Ferguson’s Dinner’s On Me podcast on Tuesday.

“I’m very much a single mother,” she shared. “I’m very much the only parent. No disrespect, but I am not co-parenting really, and that’s just the reality of it.”

She added: “It’s one, it’s 24/7.”

Although Carti is allegedly not in the picture, Azalea said she has been working with a life coach ever since welcoming her son in June 2020.

“That’s been my No. 1, life-changing thing for me,” she said, noting that she turns to the woman for everything from parenting to business endeavours.

Reps for Carti did not immediately reply to Page Six’s request for comment.

Elsewhere in the episode, the “Fancy” rapper explained why she left the music industry to focus on other creative ventures — such as cryptocurrency — to give her son a more stable life.

“I no longer want to be travelling around everywhere. I want to take my son to school. I want him to have memories with me and give him that time,” she explained. “It’s really important to me.”

Although Onyx toured with his mum for two years, Azalea ultimately decided that her time for her music career needed “to end.”

Azalea noted that she owes her “success” to her mother and wants to have the same lasting impact on her son.

“She spent so much time with me and she just really gassed me up and made me think I was a superwoman genius, dancer extraordinaire, painter extraordinaire, chef, whatever it was,” she told Tyler Ferguson.

“And it’s important to me, even when my son’s only 4, that I know I’m there, instilling that confidence in him and just helping guide him,” she continued.

“It’s my job as a parent. I think if you’re going to have a child you should be prepared to do that and engage in that way.”

This isn’t the first time Azalea has suggested that the “Sky” rapper, 28, plays little to no role in their son’s life.

In December 2023, the Australian singer suggested her ex was an absent father after a fan posted a compilation video of Carti spending time with the little one.

“Its cool how you can fit damn near every visit into just one video. Talented!” she savagely commented under the since-deleted video.

The exes began dating in 2018 and split a few months after welcoming their son due to alleged infidelity from the “New Tank” rapper.

Azalea has not been in a public relationship since their breakup. However, she was briefly linked to Tory Lanez in 2022. The pair never confirmed the nature of their relationship.
