Sean “Diddy” Combs helped mentor Usher and brought the then 14-year-old R&B singer to the East Coast to live with him in New York City for a year.
Usher, who performed at the Superbowl this year, revealed in a resurfaced clip that Diddy took him under his wing while chatting on the Howard Stern Show in 2016.
“I moved to New York City, and I lived with Sean ‘Puffy’ Combs for a year,” Usher said.
Stern replied: “That was L.A. Reid’s idea, right? We’re sending you to something called Puffy Flavor Camp.”
“In the ‘90s; do you understand what that’s like?” Usher said, before Stern quipped, “Puffy’s place was like just filled with chicks and orgying like non-stop, right?”
“Nah, not really. It was curious. I got a chance to see some things,” replied Usher.
“Yeah, but you were 13. What were you seeing?” quizzed Howard.
“I went there to see the lifestyle, and I saw it,” said Usher. “And it was … But I don’t know if I could indulge and understand what I was even looking at. It was pretty wild. It was crazy.”
Co-host Robin Quivers interjected, saying: “So nobody tried to, you know, some woman didn’t come along …”Usher laughed before adding, “I didn’t say that. What I did say is that there were very curious things taking place, and I didn’t necessarily understand it.”
The singer went on to reveal that the parties Diddy threw were filled with legends: “Biggie Smalls was there, Lil’ Kim, Craig Mack … Faith Evans, Jodeci, Mary J. Blige.”
Quivers then asked if his parents were “OK with everything,” to which Usher said: “They didn’t know nothing about this s**t. I was having a good time.”
“Does he having you doing any chores?” questioned Stern as the chat continued. “Are you doing dishes at all to keep you humble somewhat or are you just like, can you stay up till 4 in the morning with them and party?”
“I mean, I could. I actually stayed up longer than them,” Usher said.
Stern then questioned Usher on whether he would allow his son to attend “Puffy Camp”.
Usher quickly responded: “Hell no.”
Homeland Security raided Sean’s homes in California and Florida on Tuesday.
In a video obtained by Fox 11, law enforcement could be seen arriving at Diddy’s Holmby Hills home in California with their guns drawn. Outside his home, multiple helicopters hovered above as agents swarmed the property on foot.
In the last couple of months, Diddy, 54, has been hit with several sexual abuse lawsuits.
Most recently, the producer was sued by a former male employee named Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones, who claimed Combs abused him from September 2022 to November 2023 as they worked on his album The Love Album: Off the Grid. His allegations followed those of Diddy’s longtime ex-partner Casandra “Cassie” Ventura, who accused him of sexual abuse and rape in November 2023. Three other women have also come forward with Diddy denying all allegations.
