Last month, King's father T.I. said that his son was expecting his first child.
King Harris was arrested in Georgia this week after a traffic stop resulted in the discovery of a misdemeanor failure to appear warrant.
While official info on the arrest remained relatively limited as of this writing, online jail records show that Harris, 20, was arrested by the Dunwoody Police Department in Georgia on Sunday, Oct. 13. Records show that he was held at the DeKalb County Jail but “released to another agency” the following day, with charges listed as “out of county (foreign warrant).”
Regional reports from WSB-TV and FOX 5 Atlanta, respectively, offer a bit more insight into what allegedly transpired in the moments leading up to Harris’ arrest. Police say Harris was driving a BMW that nearly struck a patrol car when pulling out of a gas station, thus leading to him being pulled over. The officer alleges he smelled weed when approaching the vehicle, as well as noticed a gun on Harris’ hip.

From there, the officer ran Harris’ info, resulting in the discovery of a warrant out of the Pickens County court system. In a statement included in a police report cited here, the officer said Harris “was cooperative” and asked to exit the vehicle, at which point he was cuffed. Harris was reportedly not alone in the car, with one of two passengers said to have been cited for weed-related reasons.
As for the failure to appear claim, a separate report links this to a bench warrant from September 2024 and a prior 2022 arrest. When reached for comment, a Pickens County Sheriff's Office rep told Complex that Harris had been the subject of a misdemeanor failure to appear warrant. However, that warrant has been recalled.
Complex has also reached out to the Dunwoody Police Department and the DeKalb County Sheriff's Office for comment. This story may be updated.
Harris hasn't directly publicly commented on any of this. Recent Instagram activity, however, would suggest that he wasn't in custody very long. Last month, Harris' father, T.I., said that his son was expecting his first child.
