Bieber was "sadly mistaken" about doubting his wife would cover 'Vogue.'
Justin Bieber gave rare insight on his marriage to Hailey Bieber, praising her first solo Vogue cover.
Bieber posted the cover on Instagram on Tuesday (May 30) and captioned that the image reminded him of when he and his wife of roughly seven years had "a huge fight."
"I told hails that she would never be on the cover of vogue," the pop singer wrote, adding that the comment was "so mean."
"For some reason because I felt so disrespected I thought I gotta get even.." he continued.
Bieber ended with a note on maturity, writing that we're "not helping anything by getting even."
"we’re honestly just prolonging what we really want which is intimacy and connection.”
However, some users saw Bieber’s message as backhanded, commenting, “u need help with some captions, King” and “I hate my wife final boss.” He’s since changed him the caption to just emojis.
Bieber, who shares an infant son, Jack Blues Bieber, with Hailey, has imparted messages of accountability in his recent Instagram posts, like opening up about his 'flaws' earlier this month. Also in his wife's Vogue story, Bieber made comments about how Hailey has been his refuge.
“I’ve done a lot of dumb things in my life but the smartest thing I’ve ever done was marry Hailey," Bieber wrote to the publication via email.
The singer also shared that because Hailey makes being a "mom and wife look easy," she's an "easy target" for online ridicule, of which Bieber has been protective.
