Canadian superstar announces release in social media posts, follows first Swag release in July
Justin Bieber fans didn't have to wait long for a followup to his surprise summer album Swag — he's dropping Swag II tonight.
The Canadian music superstar revealed in a series of posts on his Instagram account that the album will be released at midnight.
The images in his posts showed buildings and billboards lit in pink with "SWAG II" emblazoned on them, while others showed a photo of the 31-year-old holding his one-year-old son Jack alongside wife Hailey Bieber.
This will be the London, Ont.-born singer's eighth studio album. A tracklist of songs was not public at the time of publication.
He released the first volume of Swag on July 11, with only hours notice.
The 21-track R&B album debuted at the top of Billboard's Top Streaming Albums and Top Streaming Songs charts, while entering the the Billboard 200 at No. 2 and hitting number No. 1 on the Top R&B albums' chart.
According to Billboard, the single Daisies tied Bieber with Kendrick Lamar for the third most No. 1 songs on the Streaming Songs chat, with each holding seven. They follow Taylor Swift, who has nine, and Canadian rapper Drake with 21.
Swag II is rumoured to veer away from R&B and be more pop-music focused, Billboard reported.
