Nelly and Ashanti – who have been romantically linked on and off since the 2000s – are fuelling romance rumours once again after they were spotted together in Las Vegas on Saturday night.
The duo sat ringside for the boxing match between Gervonta Davis and Ryan Garcia, with many of their fans taking to social media to weigh in on their potential reignited romance.
Although Nelly, 48, and Ashanti, 42, appeared to lay low during the actual fight, video footage from the event showed the musicians holding hands as they exited the venue.
“Yo mo! I know we not seeing eye-to-eye either really but from lil bro to big bro STOP PLAYING AND MARRY THIS WOMAN BRO!” fellow rapper Bow Wow wrote in the comments section of an Instagram post from The Shade Room.
“You like 50, sit yo old ass down, this your queen.”

Many agreed with Bow Wow, writing things like, “They’re definitely back together,” “As long as she don’t let him waste another 10 years of her life. I’m here for it,” and “I think that we all just want them to get married already”.
Another chimed in, writing, “At this point why tf not! But Nelly better get that ring UP. Yesterdays price is NOT todays price.”
Nelly and Ashanti have yet to publicly confirm or deny whether they’re officially back on – or just good industry pals. However, this certainly isn’t the first time they’ve faced romance rumours in recent months.
Following their steamy onstage performance of “Body On Me” in December 2022, Ashanti addressed her connection with Nelly during her appearance on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen that same month.
“My reaction was, ‘Wow.’ It was a lot of comments and a lot of people wanting that [us back together],” she said at the time, in reaction to fans seeing her grinding on her former flame following his 2021 split from Shantel Jackson.
“What I will say is, we’re in a better place. You know, ’cause before, it was like [mimics fighting]. But we’re cool now. Yeah, we have some conversations, you know. So it’s cool.”
Cohen continued to press Ashanti on the topic, asking, “But you’re not getting back together?”
The “Foolish” singer struggled to find words, simply responding, “I mean, I don’t …”
Reps for Nelly and Ashanti did not immediately respond to Page Six’s requests for comment.
The duo previously had a long history of staying tight-lipped about the terms of their relationship over the years. However, Ashanti admitted in a 2014 interview that Nelly was her first real love.
”It’s a very small industry. Are we gonna see each other? Yeah … I’m not bitter,” she later told Hot 97.
“I feel like in a relationship, it’s like ping-pong. Sometimes you love them, sometimes you hate them. That’s a real statement, everyone goes through that.”
