Kelly Osbourne hits back at comments about her appearance at BRIT Awards

Kelly Osbourne is urging fans to have compassion as she continues speaking out about body shaming.

The singer and TV host, 41, took to Instagram to address comments about her weight loss after she stepped out at the BRIT Awards on Saturday, Feb. 28.

Osbourne, who has been grieving the death of her father Ozzy Osbourne since last year, wrote in an Instagram story, "There is a special kind of cruelty in harming someone who is clearly going through something. Kicking me while I'm down, doubting my pain, spreading my struggles as gossip, and turning your back when I need support and love most."

"None of it proves strength; it only reveals a profound absence of compassion and character," she continued. "I'm currently going through the hardest time in my life. I should not even have to defend myself. But I won't sit here and allow myself to be dehumanized in such a way!"

Ozzy Osbourne died in July 2025 at age 76, and Kelly Osbourne has opened up in the months since about struggling with grief over the loss.

"It's the hardest thing I've ever been through in my life," she said in February at the Grammys, also sharing that she is "not doing so great."

Osbourne previously hit back against cruel comments about her weight in December, when she said in a video shared on Instagram, "To the people who keep thinking they're being funny and mean by writing comments like 'Are you ill,' or 'Get off Ozempic, you don't look right.' My dad just died, and I'm doing the best that I can, and the only thing I have to live for right now is my family."

In an interview with Piers Morgan that month, Osbourne's mother, Sharon, said that her daughter "can't eat right now."

Kelly Osbourne also said last week that she "can't believe how disgusting some human beings truly are" after receiving a comment saying that she looks like "a dead body" and that she is "going to see her dad soon." Osbourne wrote, "No one deserves this sort of abuse!"

Osbourne's latest comments came after she attended the 2026 BRIT Awards, where her late father received a Lifetime Achievement Award. She joined her mother on stage, as Sharon Osbourne said she was "honored" to accept the award on her late husband's behalf, while Kelly Osbourne said, "Thank you for loving my father as much as we do."
