5 year oldNicole Curran says she’s been getting death threats over the viral video showing her leaning over to speak to Jay-Z, as Beyoncé sits stone-faced between them.
The Beyhive stung Curran — the wife of Golden State Warriors owner Joseph Lacob — so badly that she had to delete her Instagram on Thursday, she told ESPN reporter Ramona Shelburne.
“Just spoke to Nicole Curran, the wife of Warriors owner Joe Lacob, about the ‘incident’ with Beyoncé last night,” Shelburne tweeted. “She was in tears.”
“[She] said she had been getting death threats on social media all night this morning she disabled her IG account just to make it stop.”
The threats came after Beyoncé fans went wild over a screenshot of the 37-year-old “Lemonade” singer delivering some epic side-eye in Curran’s direction during Game 3 of the NBA finals Wednesday night.
Curran said she “had no idea anything was even amiss” until she got home to texts from friends and messages on social media, Shelburne said.
During the game, Curran said she’d asked Jay-Z and Beyoncé if they wanted anything to drink, but couldn’t hear the 49-year-old rapper over the noise in Oakland’s Oracle Arena — so she leaned over.
“There was no hostility,” she said, according to Shelburne. “I was trying to be a good hostess.”
“I’ve never experienced cyber bullying like this,” she reportedly added. “I can’t believe our players go through this. That kids go through this.”
Before deleting her Instagram account, Curran posted a screenshot from the game, captioned: “We should all help and support each other.”
