‘Animals’: Police warn couple over ‘vulgar’ beach act

The intimate moment, which occurred on a popular beach in Praia Grande, a city in Sao Paulo, Brazil, was posted on TikTok but was removed after gaining over four million views. 

The footage shows a tattooed woman wearing a cheeky black bikini while straddling a man on a beach chair.

The pair were kissing under an umbrella, seemingly unaware that a Sao Paulo Military Police officer was approaching them. 

The officer pointed at the woman, ordering her to cut it out and she obliged, immediately hopping off her partner’s lap. 

She then looked to find another chair as the police officer walked off. 

According to Brazilian news outlet G1, the beachgoers only received a warning and no official report of the incident was made. 

The act of public indecency is prohibited under Article 233 of the Brazilian Penal Code. 

Offenders may face fines or imprisonment for three months to one year.

According to the publication, a witness to an “obscene act in a public space” who feels uncomfortable with the situation can call the police or Civil Guard. 

Criminal defence lawyer Guilherme M. de Andrade said the couple could not be accused for committing a sexual act, the Daily Mail reported. 

“We can say that the display of affection made in an exaggerated manner or with an explicit sexual nature can be seen as immoral,” de Andrade stated. 

“But this does not directly qualify as a ‘lewd act’ in the legal sense, unless it involves a more intimate or inappropriate action in public places.”

Commenters called the act “classless” and “vulgar” online.

“Some people have no moral code,” one person slammed.

Others branded it “uncivilised” and said the couple were acting like “animals”.

“What’s going on down in Brazil?” someone else asked. “Recent articles about orgies on a beach, man j***ing off in the surf and now this?”

It comes after more explicit incidents have been coming out of Brazil in recent months. 

On Sunday, a man was reprimanded by onlookers after he was seen pleasuring himself in the water at a beach in the Copacabana area of Rio de Janeiro. 

Witness footage captured a naked man with his back turned to the beach as a woman shouted in his direction.

A bystander angrily walked into the waves to confront the man, grabbing him by the neck and pushing him down.

It followed a sex party with at least 30 men on yet another beach in Rio de Janeiro.

The orgy reportedly began on New Year’s Eve and continued until dawn.
