6 year oldPARIS Jackson has honoured her recently departed grandfather Joe Jackson in a sweet Instagram post that gave a glimpse into their final moments together.
“Spending those last few moments with you were everything,” Paris, 20, wrote on Thursday alongside a snapshot from his hospital bed.
“Being able to tell you everything I needed to tell you before saying goodbye was such a blessing,” she wrote.
“Everyone that came to visit you, came with love, respect, and so much pride in their hearts for you. Proud of you, proud to be your children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, proud to have your strength and share the dynasty you spent your life creating, and proud to be a Jackson.”
Calling him “the first true Jackson” and “the legend that started it all,” she continued, “None of us would be anywhere near where we’re at if it weren’t for you. You are the strongest man I know. Your life’s work will go down in history, as will you, to be known as one of the greatest patriarchs to ever live.”
Paris’ father Michael Jackson had a contentious relationship with Joe; the King of Pop alleged that Joe was physically abusive throughout his childhood, and Michael reportedly left Joe out of his will at the time of his own 2009 death, reports the New York Post.
Still, the blossoming model-actress noted that she spent a good part of her final moments with Joe sharing stories that Michael told her.
Joe died at the age of 89 on Wednesday, succumbing to pancreatic cancer.
On Wednesday afternoon, his daughter La Toya Jackson tweeted, “You gave us strength, you made us one of the most famous families in the world. I am extremely appreciative of that, I will never forget our moments together and how you told me how much you cared.”
