Days before his death, Tito Jackson shared an eerie final social media post paying tribute to his late brother Michael Jackson.
Tito died Monday aged 70, his longtime friend and former Jackson family manager Steve Manning confirmed to Entertainment Tonight.
The outlet reported Tito, a father-of-three, had a heart attack while driving from New Mexico to Oklahoma. His family are yet to comment and a cause of death has not been confirmed.
Fans rushed to Tito’s Instagram account to pay tribute to the performer, whose last update was shared just four days ago, a photo of himself and brothers Jackie and Marlon honouring the King of Pop at his memorial in Munich.
“Before our show in Munich, my brothers Jackie, Marlon, and I, visited the beautiful memorial dedicated to our beloved brother, Michael Jackson,” Tito wrote in the caption.
“We’re deeply grateful for this special place that honors [sic] not only his memory but also our shared legacy. Thank you for keeping his spirit alive.”
Tito was on tour with Marlon, 67, and Jackie, 73, last week, but had since returned to the US.
He made up members of the beloved Jackson 5, along with Michael, Jermaine, Randy, Jackie and Marlon.
The group was formed in 1964 in their hometown of Gary, Indiana, where they entered local talent shows and competitions until they scored a recording contract and achieved global superstardom.
Their hits included I Want You Back, ABC, The Love You Save and I’ll Be There, which landed the band four consecutive number-one hits on the Billboard Hot 100 charts.
Tito had three children with his ex-wife Delores Martes.
Their sons – Taj, Taryll, and TJ Jackson – formed the R&B singing group 3T in the 90s, during which they released their debut album Brotherhood in 1995.
Tito is survived by his sons and eight grandchildren.
