On Thursday afternoon, Bey posted her response to the deaths of the two black men killed by police this week via her website and encouraged fans to “take a stand and demand” that “police stop killing us.”
In addition to the written statement, Beyoncé posted a call to action on Instagram:
Since the release of her video “Formation” in February, the Grammy Award-winner has drawn praise from her fans and celebrity peers for incorporating messages surrounding race and police brutality into her music.
Bey also directed followers to a link where they can contact their respective Congressman or woman to demand action, and links for more information on how to demand justice for Alton Sterling, Philando Castile and black victims of police brutality across the country.
