8 year oldThe Saturday Night Live star turned heads at the event in Los Angeles on Saturday in a red gown with off-the-shoulder straps and a high slit. Jones accessorized with silver heels and a statement necklace with no shortage of bling.
The comedian knew she wanted her look to be a bit different than her normally casual style.
“I knew I wanted to be ‘sexy,’ and show off my body a little bit,” Jones told reporters at the premiere.
It’s hard to believe the amazing collaboration almost didn’t happen.
“It’s so funny how there are no designers wanting to help me with a premiere dress for movie,” Jones, 48, wrote on Twitter a few weeks ago. “Hmmm that will change and I remember everything.”
Siriano, who married longtime boyfriend Brad Walsh on Saturday, quickly popped up in her Twitter replies with a wave emoji, happily volunteering for the job. With custom designs for the likes of Kerry Washington, Lady Gaga and Sarah Jessica Parker in the books, Jones enthusiastically accepted his offer, and the two started “making magic.”
“He’s getting married, right now, as we speak,” Jones told reporters. “As I walk up this aisle, he is walking up his aisle! Christian, Happy Wedding Day!”
The premiere marks a year of media speculation over the highly anticipated and much debated Ghostbusters reboot, but the actress is excited for audiences to see the end product.
“It’s kind of bittersweet,” Jones said. “You want it to be over, but you don’t want it to be over. I just want everybody to go watch the movie and enjoy themselves.”
Ghostbusters hits theaters nationwide on July 15.
