Katy Perry and Justin Trudeau seemingly confirm romance with steamy PDA-filled outing on-board yacht

The duo were seen enjoying a steamy outing on board the pop star’s yacht as it sailed off the coast of Santa Barbara, California, over the weekend.

They clearly couldn’t keep their hands off each other with the pair photographed kissing and cuddling on board.

In one photo, Trudeau, 53, even cradled 40-year-old Perry’s backside as he pulled her in for a hug.

 

Wearing a black one-piece swimsuit, the Roar singer wrapped her arms around the former PM, who was shirtless and in jeans.

The PDA-packed outing comes three months after the pair first sparked romance rumours after they were seen on a dinner date at the fancy Le Violon restaurant in Montreal during Perry’s Lifetimes tour stops in Canada.

In footage released by TMZ in July, the pair looked cosy as they enjoyed an intimate conversation while security sat nearby.

The restaurant’s chef also took time to greet the pair while they ate, after which Trudeau reportedly picked up the tab, which included lobster and cocktails.

“Justin always enjoys nice company, and Katy is the kind of woman that really caught his attention,” a source later told The US Sun of the politician, who separated from his wife, Sophie Grégoire, in 2023 after 18 years of marriage and three children.

“Justin has been single for a while and has enjoyed getting to know [Perry]. He likes her personality, and they are two people who really enjoy chatting about different topics, and they click very well so far, as they are going to see each other again very soon.”

Days later, the former Prime Minister was then seen front row at Perry’s concert in Montreal, singing along to her hits Firework and Dark Horse in the crowd.

The surprise romance rumours came weeks after Perry split from ex-fiance Orlando Bloom. The A-list couple became engaged in 2019 and welcomed their daughter, Daisy Dove, in 2020.

Sadly, after almost 10 years of dating, they confirmed their break-up in a joint statement.

“Due to the abundance of recent interest and conversation surrounding Orlando Bloom and Katy Perry’s relationship, representatives have confirmed that Orlando and Katy have been shifting their relationship over the past many months to focus on co-parenting,” their representatives said in July.

“They will continue to be seen together as a family, as their shared priority is — and always will be — raising their daughter with love, stability and mutual respect.”

When romance rumours between Perry and Trudeau made headlines, Bloom reacted to a satirical post shared by satirical site The Onion on Instagram that featured an AI generated photo of the actor having a candlelit dinner with another political figure, 71-year-old Angela Merkel.

 

“Just weeks after announcing his split with fiancee Katy Perry, English actor Orlando Bloom was photographed Friday dining with former German Chancellor Angela Merkel,” the article headline read.

“Angela kept Orlando laughing all night – he couldn’t keep his eyes off her!” the satirical outlet then jokingly claimed.

The Pirates of the Caribbean star saw the humour in the post, leaving a string of applause emojis in reaction to the joke.

But the actor insists that there’s no animosity between him and Perry.

As he told US Today’s Craig Melvin in September of his break-up, “I’m so grateful. We’ve got a beautiful daughter … I feel grateful for all of it,” he said before confirming his and Perry’s relationship remains “great” and “it’s nothing but love”.
