Donald Trump has accused Kamala Harris of staging a fake photo, criticising the Democratic presidial nominee of having “no clue what she is doing”.
The former US president took aim at Ms Harris after she posted on social media that she had been briefed on the latest developments of Hurricane Helene – one of the deadliest hurricanes to strike mainland US in 50 years, which has left over 120 people dead.
“Our Administration will continue to stay in constant contact with state and local officials to ensure communities have the support and resources they need,” the Vice President wrote alongside a photo of herself aboard what appears to be air force Two.
In the photo, Ms Harris wears an earphone in one ear while she sits at a table writing notes with an iPhone in front of her.
Blasting his opposition five weeks out from the US election, Mr Trump pointed out Ms Harris’s phone is clearly not plugged into the headphones in the photo.
“Another FAKE and STAGED photo from someone who has no clue what she is doing. You have to plug the cord into the phone for it to work!” Mr Trump wrote before launching an attack on the Vice President and President.
“Biden and Harris abandoned Americans in Afghanistan. They sacrificed Americans to an Open Border, and now, they have left Americans to drown in North Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee, Alabama, and elsewhere in the South,” he continued.
“Under this Administration, Americans always come last, because we have “leaders” who have no idea how to lead!”
The photo sparked a mix response online, with some praising Trump for calling out the “fake” image.
“Thank you for being the real president and showing up, listening to the needs of those who lost everything!” one person wrote.
“President Trump is now giving tech support to someone much younger than him. What can’t this man do?!” said another.
However others hit back, noting the Vice President likely had the headphones connected to another device.
“She has two phones and one of them is in her lap,” said another.
“There is absolutely no evidence in this photo staged,” another wrote.
Hollywood star endorses Trump
It comes after Shazam! star Zachary Levi endorsed Mr Trump for president during an event in Michigan with RFK Jr.
The DC superhero actor revealed his pick for president while moderating an event with former presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Tulsi Gabbard, the former Democrat congresswoman from Hawaii, in Michigan on Saturday.
Levi opened the event by explaining that he initially was backing RFK Jr. in the 2024 presidential election, and when Kennedy suspended his campaign, Levi knew to whom he was sending his support.
“In a perfect world, in whatever that would look like, perhaps I would have voted for Bobby,” Levi said.
“But we don’t live in a perfect world. In fact, we live in a very broken one. We live in a country that has been hijacked by a lot of people who want to take this place way off the cliff, and we’re here to stop that.
“We are going to take back this country. We are going to make it great again, we’re going to make it healthy again. And so I stand with Bobby and I stand with everyone else who is standing with President Trump. … Of the two choices that we have, and we only have two, President Trump is the man that can get us there.”
