5 year oldToronto levelled the series up at 2-2 with the Milwaukee Bucks in the Eastern Conference Finals, but the spotlight hasn’t been on the game since the final buzzer.
After Game 4 came to an end, the biggest talking point has surrounded Raptors number one fan and rapper Drake.
As Drake revelled in the series-levelling victory, his courtside antics drew the ire of several basketball fans along with Bucks coach Mike Budenholzer.
“There’s certainly no place for fans — or whatever Drake is for the raptors — on the court. There’s boundaries and lines for a reason,” Budenholzer said.
His actions went to the next level when Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo air-balled a free throw and Drake laughed while stumbling along the side of the court.
Antetokounmpo’s ex-manager in a since deleted tweet laid into Drake and called it “disrespectful”.
“Imagine a gig & an athlete on VIP seats, right next to the band, stands up on the stage just to show off during the entire game, knowing cameras are on him, occasionally even massaging the singer,” he wrote.
“Security & him both allow it. Never seen anything as disrespectful as this before...”.
Now the actions of Drake have been called into question by none other than comedian and movie star Kevin Hart.
Hart ran into trouble during the 2018 NBA Playoffs when he unleashed a verbal tirade in the direction of Miami Heat star Dwyane Wade in game two of the first round series against the Philadelphia 76ers.
A diehard Sixers fan, Hart continued to bark at Wade but it was the veteran who had the last laugh as he led his team to the win on the road.
Ever since that stoush Hart has kept a lid on it and even stayed away from the Sixers’ current playoff run after a fan petition asked him to steer clear of home games.
But an appearance on Live with Ryan and Kelly brought up the subject of Drake, who’s Raptors eliminated Hart’s 76ers in the second round.
With tongue in cheek, Hart called out Drake for not paying up on bets and then slammed him for reverse jinxing the Sixers.
“(Drake) wanted to bet on the series and I didn’t because he doesn’t pay,” Hart said. “I think my frustrations from the past is probably what brought some of the negativity into this series. If I had a bet, we probably would have won. Because I didn’t bet, he reversed me. He hit me with a reverse-woo.”
“You know what’s bad,” Hart continued. “I didn’t even go to the series. I didn’t go to no games because I’m so superstitious. I went to games last year and then we lost to Boston.
“He wore our team shorts because he’s a jerk.
“He put the reverse on himself because everybody was saying whoever he roots for loses. I should have done the same thing, I should have put on a Toronto Raptors uniform and I didn’t. I let my city down. I let my city down.”
Hart continued his rant with an expletive outburst that was bleeped out by the TV’s broadcaster.
Game 5 between the Raptors and Bucks takes place on Friday at 10:30am (AEST).
