Former French prime ministers Alain Juppe and Francois Fillon will compete in the second round of the Republican primaries on Sunday to determine the party’s presidential nominee for the 2017 election.
In the first round of the Republican Party primary held on November 20, Fillon, who served as the prime minister from 2007-2012, won 44.1 percent of the vote, beating Juppe, who secured 28.6 percent.
