One of the nation’s largest sports retailers, Dick’s Sporting Goods, said Wednesday morning it was immediately ending sales of all assault-style rifles in its stores.

On Sunday, hundreds of students and families returned to Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School to gather their belongings and visit the campus for the first time since the Valentine's Day massacre.

The ex-student reportedly had a history of threatening other students before he opened fire in his old classrooms.

Seventeen people, including the suspect, were sent to area hospitals, said Dr. Evan Boyar of Broward Health. The suspect was treated and released to police.
