Investigators have downloaded data from one of the black box flight recorders on EgyptAir Flight MS804 and are preparing to analyze it, bringing them closer discovering what caused the jet to crash, Egypt’s investigation committee said on Wednesday.

EGYPTIAN forensics officials are collecting DNA f-rom relatives of EgyptAir MS804 victims to help identify body parts retrieved f-rom the Mediterranean, as Greece will soon dispatch crash information to Egyptian authorities.

A senior Egyptian forensics official says human remains recovered f-rom the crash site of EgyptAir Flight 804 have burns on them and are "very tiny," which suggests an explosion may have taken place in midair on board the aircraft.

The crucial black boxes f-rom EgyptAir Flight 804 have yet to be recovered after the plane disappeared over the Mediterranean Sea last week with 66 people aboard. The United States, France, Egypt and other countries are contributing to search teams combing the area.

A terror attack could be the reason for the EgyptAir crash, Aleksandr Bortnikov, head of Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB), has said.

Greek military officials said that the items were located by an Egyptian search plane 230 miles southeast of the Island of Crete, according to an Associated Press report.

The flight f-rom Paris to Cairo had 66 people aboard.
