May enters the top job with Brexit plans and 'not a lot of friends'
Theresa May will succeed David Cameron as Prime Minister on Wednesday evening after May’s challenger in the Conservative leadership race, Andrea Leadson, pulled out of the contest.
The announcement soothed financial markets, after political turmoil wreaked havoc on global markets since the Brexit vote last month.
The only other remaining contender, Energy Minister Andrea Leadsom, quit the race on Monday.
Andrea Leadsom has pulled out of the contest to become the next Conservative Party leader and UK PM - with Theresa May now set to succeed David Cameron.
