Mike Tyson’s mega fight against Jake Paul has gone as most expected, with the 58-year-old struggling to land a punch.
Mike Tyson’s return to the ring has unfolded as most expected, with Jake Paul untroubled in a unanimous victory in Dallas, Texas.
There was plenty of fascination and interest in whether 58-year-old Tyson could recapture a glimmer of his best and knock out the brash YouTuber.
But it failed to materialise, with Tyson landing just 18 punches across the eight-round bout, with Paul landing 78 times on the veteran American.

The drama kicked off a day early when Tyson slapped Paul at the weigh-in as Paul went full villain mode.
There was barely any more drama in the fight itself, with perhaps the main surprise being the fact Tyson was able to make the distance, albeit over shortened two-minute rounds.
In the end, the 27-year-old Paul threw 978 punches to Tyson’s generous 278 in a one-sided event.
Netflix also crashed just as Tyson entered the ring, although it seemed to stabilise for most viewers when the fight got underway.
Jake Paul may have won the fight relatively easily but we can’t exactly say this will go down as an iconic fight in boxing history.
The YouTuber looks like a more than competent boxer and he did the damage in the third round against Tyson, landing several punches that left the former heavyweight champ wobbled.
But boxing fans and commentators didn’t love the sight of a 58-year-old legend of the sport hobbling around the ring.
ESPN’s Mike Coppinger wrote on X: “Jake Paul battered Mike Tyson with some big shots in Round 3. This is sad. He’s 58 …”
Veteran boxing analyst Dan Rafael said: “I’m sad watching this. Tyson looks like Tyson, but nothing left under the hood.”
Boxing superstar Ryan Garcia said there was “no point of that fight”.
Boxing’s pound-for-pound king Terence Crawford said: “I love Mike Tyson, but they giving him too much credit. He looked like trash, to train that long and only throw 97 punches the whole fight is crazy. I’m just glad he didn’t get hurt out there.”
Paddy Power’s account on X posted: “I haven’t seen 60,000 people look this sad in a stadium since Tottenham’s last home game.”
No Limit’s Tim Ashworth said: “I still can’t believe this is actually happening. It’s ludicrous. It’s insane. It’s incredible. The good. The bad. Just Boxing. Nothing like it.”'
