The headline act has been announced for the coveted halftime show – and it’s the second time this popular musician will grace the Super Bowl stage.

Usher is officially headlining the Super Bowl 2024 halftime show in Paradise, Nevada.

The NFL, Apple Music and Roc Nation confirmed the news via social media today, with a video featuring the Confessions singer and Kim Kardashian – who famously made headlines for coming out to see him perform during his Las Vegas residency.

“It’s an honour of a lifetime to finally check a Super Bowl performance off my bucket list,” Usher said in a statement.

“I can’t wait to bring the world a show unlike anything else they’ve seen from me before.”

The 44-year-old singer also thanked his fans and “everyone” who made the opportunity happen.

“I’ll see you real soon,” he teased.

This will mark Usher’s second time performing at the Super Bowl. In 2011, the eight-time Grammy Award winner was a guest during the Black Eyed Peas’ Super Bowl XLV halftime show.

“Usher is an icon whose music has left an indelible mark on the cultural landscape throughout his career, we couldn’t be more excited to have him headline this year’s Apple Music Super Bowl Halftime Show,” Seth Dudowsky, the head of music for the NFL, said in a statement.

“We look forward to working with Usher, Roc Nation and Apple Music to bring fans another Halftime Show for the history books.”

Usher’s appearance will follow Rihanna’s now-iconic Super Bowl 2023 halftime show, in which she shocked fans by revealing her second pregnancy with A$AP Rocky during her set.

While performing at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, last year, the Diamonds singer put her then-growing baby bump on full display in a bright red Loewe jumpsuit, skin-tight catsuit and glossy bustier.

She completed her look with bold glam by her longtime makeup artist, Priscilla Ono, who used products from the singer’s own cosmetics company, Fenty Beauty.

“I want a makeup look that you can look back at, at any point in time, and be like, ‘That look? I want that on me now,’” Ono exclusively teased to Page Six in February 2023.

“I just want it to look super iconic … I want it to be super timeless.”

In a press conference just days before Rihanna’s big performance, the Barbados native explained why there was no better time to say “yes” to the coveted halftime gig after turning it down in 2019.

“It feels like it could have only been now. When I first got the call to do it again this year, I was like, ‘You sure? I’m three months post-partum, should I be making major decisions like this right now? Like, I might regret this,’” she recalled.

“But when you become a mum, there’s something that just happens where you feel like you can take on the world, you can do anything. And the Super Bowl is one of the biggest stages in the world.”

Rihanna gave birth to her and A$AP Rocky’s second child, son Riot, in August. They’re also parents to son RZA, whom they welcomed in May 2022.

Super Bowl LVIII is set to take place on February 11, 2024 at Allegiant Stadium in Nevada.
