Paris Jackson’s more than 80 tattoos were nowhere in sight when she hit the Grammy Awards on Monday.
The US model, who rocked an off-the-shoulder cut-out Celine gown on the red carpet, enlisted celebrity makeup artist Tyson Fountaine to pull off the major transformation, entirely eliminating her heavily-covered body ink at the musical awards show.
Jackson, 25, has been building her body art collection for years, with designs ranging from chakra symbols on her chest, to a Leo Tolstoy quote, and four large symbols inspired by Led Zeppelin on her arm.
“I have friendship tattoos with at least 10 people,” she told Glamour UK in 2022, after debuting matching rose tattoos with British model Cara Delevingne.
The musician and daughter of Michael Jackson has even tried her own hand at tattooing, as she gave herself some fresh foot artwork at home during the coronavirus lockdown in 2020.
Much of her body art also honours her late father; she even has the cover art from the King of Pop’s 1991 album Dangerous inked on her arm.
“The craftsmanship of tattoos will always be a controversy,” she said in a 2016 interview post, per E!.
“Some people like them, some people absolutely hate them. I appreciate art, I always have, especially when that art means something to me.”
“It’s more about the number of piercings than what is on them, but there is a sunburst, feather and dragon,” the star told LVR in 2022 of her seven studs, a reference to her father’s favourite number.
