Bruce Willis’ health is reportedly deteriorating at a ‘fast’ rate according to insiders, as Demi Moore shares her own update.

Bruce Willis’ health condition is reportedly in rapid decline, according to those close to the actor’s family.

Willis retired from acting in 2022 after an aphasia diagnosis, before the Hollywood star was subsequently diagnosed with FTD in 2023.

The devastating condition affects the way people process written and spoken language, and interferes with speech. It can also cause mobility issues and behavioural changes.

While his family have done their best to maintain a positive outlook and share updates with fans, behind the scenes insiders claim Willis’ condition has become “dire”.

“He is going downhill fast,” a family insider told The Daily Mail, adding that Willis “doesn’t know some faces” anymore.

“It is dire because Bruce won’t be the same again,” a second insider shared.

“Occasionally there are flashes of who he used to be, whether it is a smile or a laugh or other gestures, and everyone appreciates having those moments.

“Now when anyone is with him, they all enjoy their time together and don’t make it into a sad thing. They’ll dance, watch TV, have dinner together. Everyone is making the best of it considering the circumstances.”

The sad update comes after Willis’ ex-wife, Demi Moore, confessed that Willis is in constant need of “caretaking” now his disease has progressed further.

“I really always say it’s so important just to meet them where they’re at,’ she added. ‘Don’t have an expectation of them needing to be who they were or who you want them to be. And when you do that I find that there is an incredible sweetness and something that’s soft and tender and loving. Perhaps it is more playful and childlike in certain sense because of how much more caretaking they need.”

In December, amid her 17th anniversary with Willis, wife Emma Heming addressed the “anger and grief” of living with the diagnosis.

“Anniversaries used to bring excitement — now, if I’m honest, they stir up all the feelings, leaving a heaviness in my heart and a pit in my stomach,” she wrote via Instagram at the time, adding that she gives herself “30 minutes” to sit with the question of “why him, why us.”

“Then I shake it off and return to what is. And what is … is unconditional love,” she continued. “I feel blessed to know it, and it’s because of him. I’d do it all over again and again in a heartbeat.”
