Hollywood legend Whoopi Goldberg has broken her silence about dead disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein.

Whoopi Goldberg has broken her silence after it was revealed that her name was in the Epstein files.

Goldberg took time out of her latest appearance on The View to shut down speculation that she was ever associated with dead pedophile Jeffrey Epstein.

“In the name of transparency, my name is in the files, yes!” Goldberg, 70, said on Tuesday’s episode of The View.

On Tuesday, Goldberg opened up about her name being in newly-released files.

In a conversation with co-hosts Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin, and Sara Haines, she said: “In the name of transparency, my name is in the files. Yes. And what does it say? It says, ‘Whoopi needs a plane to get to Monaco. John Lennon’s charity’ — it should say Julian Lennon’s charity — ‘is paying for it.”

The actress, 70, then explained that the charity was reaching out to private plane owners in order to arrange for her transportation.

“They give all the information. And they’re saying, ‘Do you want to offer your G2?’ “ she added.

Hostin then interjected, questioning: “And it looks like they said, ‘No thanks.’

Behar jumped in, saying: “So, in other words, anybody could be on this list.”

“Anybody,” Goldberg agreed. “This is my point, because I’m telling you, when people are trying to turn me into… I wasn’t his girlfriend, I wasn’t his friend.”

Behar quipped: “You were too old for him”, before Goldberg continued.

“I was not only too old, but it was at a time, you know, where this is just not – you used to have facts before you said stuff!” she said.

It’s not the first time Goldberg has denied links to Epstein.

“Apparently, they said I was on the island. And I don’t go anywhere!” Goldberg said in 2024. “There’s just been a lot of stuff recently, I don’t know what I’ve done to anybody — but apparently there are a lot of the [tabloid] sites [and] people don’t realise they can be harmful.”

Meanwhile, it comes as the mystery regarding the redaction of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s name in the Jeffrey Epstein files, which appeared to have taken place in the days following their release.

According to The Sun, email exchanges between the former Duke of York and the convicted sex offender were changed after first being released in late January with his name clearly printed.

The amended documents include an exchange between Epstein and a Russian woman called Irina, in which they are confirming plans for her to meet with Andrew in August 2010.
