Cardi B gifted half a million dollars’ worth of Hermès bags for her 31st birthday

What’s better than a birthday Birkin? Multiple birthday Birkins.

Cardi B celebrated her 31st birthday in style Wednesday, unwrapping three new Hermès bags collectively worth more than half a million Australian dollars from her rapper husband, Offset, as the couple partied at West Hollywood hotspot Delilah.

Offset, 31, documented his wife’s bash on his Instagram Stories, filming as the WAP singer — clad in a plunging red lace gown — was presented with a stack of three of the French fashion house’s signature orange boxes.

 

Cardi B squealed as she opened the first, which contained a hot pink crocodile Kelly bag; a similar style recently sold for close to $145,000.

But her next purse blew the first out of the water.

As she danced in her seat to Madonna’s Vogue, Cardi unboxed an extremely rare Faubourg Birkin — often called the “House Birkin” as it’s modelled after Hermès’ Paris storefront on the Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré. One of the purses is currently listed on a designer resale site for a staggering $400,000.

“My favourite!” Cardi screamed upon unwrapping the unique carryall, joking, “I don’t even think I’m ready to see the other one.”
 

Offset suggested she “take a shot” before opening her last box, which housed a glossy gold-coloured crocodile Birkin.

A similar version sold at a Christie’s auction in 2020 for $113,000, bringing the total value of Cardi’s birthday gifts to approximately $658,000.

Of course, the Grammy winner’s got plenty more Hermès bags already in her closet; she’s given fans glimpses of her extensive collection on Instagram in the past.
 

And the bags weren’t Cardi’s only birthday surprise; Offset also filled the couple’s home with hot pink roses, balloons and candles to mark the occasion.

Fans chimed in on Cardi’s Instagram post showcasing her festively decorated house to praise Offset, with one writing, “One thing about offset is he go out his way to keep his wife happy.”
 

“Cardi where did you order your man from,” another wrote.

“Please don’t get pregnant tonight,” a third joked, adding, “we still need that album and the tour. Happy Birthday tho.”

It’s safe to say Offset will have a tough time topping this birthday.
