7 year oldAccording to court documents obtained by Radar Online, the singer, whose real name is Usher Raymond IV, shelled out $US1.1 million ($A1.38 million) for the celebrity stylist after he allegedly gave her the sexually transmitted disease.
The court documents claim that after the unnamed woman realised she had herpes, Usher was “very apologetic and promised to figure things out”.
The documents also feature a cheque for the amount of $US2,754 to pay for the woman’s medical expenses after she realised she had the virus. The cheque is dated April 23, 2012.
The lawsuit is accusing Usher of “consciously and purposefully” withholding his herpes diagnosis and continuing to have unprotected sex with the stylist.
According to the documents, the 38-year-old singer was diagnosed with the virus back in 2009 or 2010.
Usher was previously married to his personal stylist Tameka Foster from August, 2007 to November, 2009.
The couple’s bitter divorce battle played out in court, especially over the custody of their two sons Usher ‘Cinco’ V and Naviyd Ely.
The singer then quietly married his longtime girlfriend and manager Grace Miguel in September, 2015 while they were on holiday in Cuba.
Miguel, who is eight years Usher’s senior, has worked as the singer’s manager for years but the two were first reported to be dating in 2009.
Usher confirmed they were married on The Ellen Show back in December, 2015.
The woman’s allegations seem to fall directly between his divorce from Foster and before he started dating Miguel.
The singer, who is worth close to $US200 million, became one of the best-selling musical artists of the 2000s after his 2004 album Confessions sold 20 million copies worldwide.
Usher is yet to issue a statement regarding the allegations.
