​Stars engaged after 41 years as friends ​

Blair Underwood and actress Josie Hart are engaged after 41 years of friendship.

The former Sex And The City actor announced the exciting news on Instagram after walking the red carpet together for the first time as a couple, Page Six reports.

“The most amazing, brilliant, beautiful, hilarious, thought provoking and insightful person I know who continuously lives life out loud,” the actor captioned a picture of the two. “The future is crazy-bright girl!”

The 58-year-old continued: “None of us ever know where God will guide our paths. She’s had my back since before I even became an actor. When a 41-year friendship slaps you in the back of the head and blossoms into romance, you stand up, pay attention and step forward in gratitude.”

Although it’s unclear how long the two have been dating, Underwood’s famous friends were quick to wish the happy couple well.

“Congrats, friend,” Yvette Nicole Brown commented, while Niecy Nash added, “Issa fiancé.”

“Somebody call 9-1-1 – my breathing is laboured and I can’t feel my heart beat anymore,” Sherrie Shepherd joked. “OK I revived myself! Congrats Blair and Josie – glad you got someone in your corner️.”
 

The exciting news comes just one year after Underwood and Desiree DaCosta, who played a big role in the actor’s success, called it quits after 27 years of marriage.

The former couple, who share sons Paris, 25, and Blake, 21, and daughter Brielle, 23, announced their split in May 2021, saying that while their marriage didn’t last, their “proudest achievements are our three incredible children”.
