But his latest foe is not a mutant - although he is in charge of a superpower.
Getty ImagesYes, now that he's decided to quit the X-Men franchise, Sir Patrick seems to have decided to pick a real life fight.
Murmurings of his political discontent began with this tweet...

Then he went on American chat show, The View, and was asked about his thoughts on the new President. And that's when the gloves came off.

Clearly moaning from the sidelines is not a lifestyle choice endorsed by the 76-year-old.
Talking about Trump he stated:
"I am now applying for citizenship. Because I want to be an American too," he says.
"All my friends in Washington said there is one thing you can do. Fight, fight, oppose, oppose.
"But I can't do it because I'm not a citizen."
Not everyone loves the idea though...
