SINGER Carrie Underwood warned fans she might not look the same after having 40 facial stitches. Now a reality star has shared a picture of her post-surgery.

CARRIE Underwood may be insecure after getting 40 stitches in her face, but to the rest of the world, she’s as gorgeous as ever.

Underwood, 34, revealed on New Year’s Day that she’d gotten between 40 and 50 stitches in her face following a nasty fall outside her home in November. The accident also left her with a broken wrist, reports the New York Post.

“I am determined to make 2018 amazing and I want to share things with you along the way,” the star wrote via her fan website.

“And when I am ready to get in front of a camera, I want you all to understand why I might look a bit different.”

She called the fall a “freak random accident” and said she was “grateful that it wasn’t much, much worse.” Underwood added that she wanted to share the details about her fall to let her fans know why she “might look a bit different” when she returns on camera.

The 34-year-old singer said, “I’m hoping that, by then, the differences are minimal, but, again, I just don’t know how it’s all going to end up.”

Despite Underwood’s disclaimer, no one else seems to notice the difference.

US reality star chef Adrienne Gang ran into Underwood at the gym last month and had no inkling that anything had happened to the singer’s face.

“I had no idea she got hurt prior to meeting her,” Gang told Us Weekly. “She had a wrist brace on, but I didn’t think much of it until I saw the headlines after I posted our picture together. I didn’t notice anything amiss on her face. Simply, she looked lovely. She was extremely friendly and gracious.”

Since the accident, Underwood has kept a low profile on social media but shared a selfie on Instagram with her face covered up by a scarf as much of the US battles freezing temperatures.
