8 year oldIn the episode that aired overnight in the US, Mariah’s European tour kicked off and she couldn’t believe the Aussie billionaire flew to Glasgow, Scotland just to be by her side for the performance.
“My fiance James ... it’s very nice for him to pop in on me, it’s very sweet,” Mariah said of his surprise appearance. “He’s very busy, he travels constantly and he didn’t really have to fly just to come to my show.”
Later in the episode, Mariah’s backup dancer Bryan Tanaka visited the singer’s dressing room before their first show together. Tanaka, who’s now rumoured to be in a relationship with Mariah, goofed around with the performer before asking about her kids and engagement to Packer.
The 46-year-old also explained in the episode why she doesn’t tour often, recalling a past relationship that forced her to feel like “Rapunzel”.
“I was with someone at the time that had a lot of control over my life. He was older than me by a lot and had a lot of power and they wanted me to remain away from most people, like sequestered,” she said.
Carey added she “had to get permission to leave” the house and often worried she’d end up “haunting the house dead”.
“I never thought I would get out of there,” she said.
