Katy Perry strips naked to encourage people to vote in US election

In lighthearted “Funny Or Die” video, the Roar singer turns up to vote in the buff, but soon runs into trouble when the police move in to arrest her.

She finds herself in the back of a police car next to a fellow naturist voter, The Sunreports.

The superstar is a prominent Hillary Clinton supporter and said she would use her body as “clickbait” in the daring video.

The 31-year-old singer took to Twitter on Monday to announce she would be releasing the clip on Tuesday, a day after the presidential debate.

The picture sees Perry standing in a hall naked with her private parts blurred. Her hair is a shaggy mess with bits of food and rubbish stuck in it, including a lollipop.

The slogan in red, white and blue reads: “Katy Perry Votes Naked Tomorrow”.

It is followed by the caption “TOMORROW, I USE MY BODY AS CLICK BAIT TO HELP CHANGE THE WORLD”, with a fist bump emoji.

Perry spoke and performed at the Democratic National Convention in July.

She also joined Clinton on the campaign trail in Iowa and tweeted in support of her during the debate against the Republican candidate Donald Trump on Monday night.

“I didn’t finish high school and, unfortunately, I don’t have a formal education,” she wrote.

“But I do have an open mind and I have a voice. I’m asking you to have an open mind and to use your voice, because on Nov. 8, you’ll be just as powerful as any NRA lobbyist.

“You’ll have as much say as any billionaire. Or you can just cancel out your weird cousin’s vote, if you’d like.”

It seems the appreciation is mutual as Clinton told E! News that Perry would be at the top of her list if she had a squad like Taylor Swift.

She said: “I’ve been lucky enough to hang out with some pretty cool celebrities on the campaign trail, like Katy Perry, America Ferrera, Demi Lovato and Tony Goldwyn so they’d definitely be in my squad!”

Clinton’s daughter Chelsea agreed and added: “Can I just pick — this is gonna sound so absurd — but can I just say that I really share my mom’s girl crush on Katy Perry? I think that she is amazing — she would man my squad. Woman my squad!”
