6 year oldNORMAL married couples argue about boring stuff like whose turn it is to unpack the dishwasher or why on earth it takes two hours to do the grocery shop.
But Kim Kardashian and Kanye West? They argue about $1 million fashion endorsement deals.
Today Kim revealed her husband recently asked her to turn down a lucrative offer from a fashion brand to post about their clothing on Instagram. In return, she would be paid $US1 million ($A1.39 million).
“He’s like the cutest,” Kim gushed about Kanye on model Ashley Graham’s new podcast, Pretty Big Deal.
“A brand offered me a million dollars to do a post on some of their clothing and they typically — I don’t want to say who the brand is — but they typically knock off (Kanye’s label) Yeezy.”
When she asked her husband if she should take the deal, he replied: “No babe. I really don’t want you to do that.”
While Kim says it was “understandable” that Kanye didn’t want her to support a brand that copies his clothes, it was hard to turn down “a lot of money”.
But a week later, he made it up to her — with a cheque for $1 million.
“Mother’s Day was, like, the next week. Mother’s Day comes and he happened to be recording out of town and I get my flowers and then I get an envelope delivered to the door. I opened the envelope and it was a million dollar cheque with a note saying thank you for always supporting me and not posting,” Kim said.
“In the rest of the envelope, it was a contract to be an owner of Yeezy — to have my percentage. And that was my Mother’s Day present.”
If that story makes you feel like an inadequate husband, now’s the perfect time to send your loved one those “Just Because” flowers.
