7 year oldACTRESS Jennifer Lawrence and her director boyfriend Darren Aronofsky have split after a year of dating.
According to Entertainment Tonight, the couple reportedly split a month ago, but remain on good terms.
Lawrence, 27, and Aronofsky, 48, were last seen together publicly as the Governor’s Awards in Los Angeles earlier this month, even though they had reportedly split by that point, adds the website.
The two Hollywood heavyweights were not pictured on the red carpet together.
The couple have been low-key about their romance, which started more than a year ago.
They started dating after filming wrapped on Mother! the controversial film that starred Lawrence and was directed by Aronofsky (the movie was widely panned and a major box office flop).
Recently, Lawrence revealed she had a crush on the director long before she started working with him.
“I had a crush on him when he pitched to me, and that was like a year before we started rehearsing, but he was a professional, which only made it worse for me,” she told The Hollywood Report’s Awards Chatter podcast in an interview.
Their initial friendship later turned romantic.
“So we just kind of formed a friendship. He knew how I felt, he never told me how he felt — I mean, I assumed — but we just formed a friendship, and then the friendship turned into a partnership for the movie once we started working, and then, when the movie was done, I was like, ‘Alright, you’re my boyfriend!’ And he was like, ‘Alright, I’m your boyfriend.’”
Both Lawrence and Aronofsky spoke to Entertainment Tonight at the Toronto International Film Festival in September, gushing about one another.
“He’s just brilliant,” Lawrence said. “Incredibly instinctual.”
For his part, Aronofsky called Lawrence a “once-in-a-generation talent.”
Lawrence was previously linked to British actor Nicholas Hoult and Coldplay frontman Chris Martin.
The director was previously in a nine-year relationship with actress Rachel Weisz (the two have a son, 10-year-old Henry), before they broke up in 2010, and Weisz later married James Bond, Daniel Craig.
