6 year oldCONTROVERSIAL Bachelor couple Arie Luyendyk Jr. and Lauren Burnham are one step closer to saying “I do”.
During an appearance on Wednesday on The View, the unfavourable Bachelor star announced that he and his fiancee would tie the knot in a private ceremony in Hawaii next January, reports the New York Post .
“It’s a private wedding, so not on TV,” Luyendyk, 36, said of the January 12 nuptials.
Expected to have about 100 guests in attendance, the couple will wed at Maui’s Haiku Mill.
“It’s not your typical beach wedding. It’s so pretty,” he shared.
Luyendyk and Burnham’s road to the altar hasn’t been without its fair share of controversy. After the former race car driver popped the question to publicist Becca Kufrin during the season finale of The Bachelor, Luyendyk ultimately pulled the plug on the short-lived engagement in front of ABC’s cameras.
“I do regret proposing that day. I wasn’t fully ready,” Luyendyk said on March’s After the Final Rose special.
After reconnecting with runner-up Burnham, 25, earlier this year, Luyendyk then proposed to her in front of a live studio audience this spring.
As for Kufrin, 26, this year’s Bachelorette has already found her happily ever after, revealing to People that she is engaged.
“It was the happiest moment of my life. And it feels so good to say it,” she said. “I still pinch myself, like, did that all just happen? It’s been a whirlwind.”
Kufrin’s journey on The Bachelorette kicks off in the US on Monday.
