When they pulled the Mercedes over they found over Wap, whose real name is Willie Maxwell, behind the wheel.
Wap, 26, showed police a suspended New Jersey license and appeared drunk, officials said.
He was arrested for reckless endangerment, illegal speed contest, drunken driving, aggravated unlicensed operation of a car, illegal lane changing and a host of other offenses.
The rapper is known for his debut single "Trap Queen" which hit number two on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart in May 2015. He won the best new artist award at the Billboard Music Awards in 2016.
