5 year oldThe Twitter and Instagram accounts for Bill Cosby sent out a message on US Father’s Day over the weekend saying “America’s Dad” wanted to make the day “a renewed oath to fulfilling our purpose”.
The New York Post reports the post came minutes after O.J. Simpson fired off a tweet of his own, which included a video about him sleeping with Kris Jenner — and concluded with a “Happy Father’s Day!” wish.
“Hey, Hey, Hey…It’s America’s Dad,” wrote the Cosby accounts. “I know it’s late, but to all of the Dads… It’s an honour to be called a Father, so let’s make today a renewed oath to fulfilling our purpose — strengthening our families and communities.”
The message was followed by several hashtags, including #HappyFathersDay, #RenewedOathToOurFamily and #FarFromFinished.
While it’s unclear if Cosby — who is locked up in Pennsylvania for sexual assault — even had a hand in writing the post, social media users were quick to rip him for it.
“Strengthen families by not being unfaithful to your wife, by not treating young women like they’re on the menu, and by not being a bad example to young men. Asshole,” tweeted illustrator Colleen Doran.
“First OJ, now this? Blocked in a New York Minute,” wrote another person.
Simpson’s Father’s Day message focused on accusations that he slept with Kris Jenner, who was then married to his former lawyer, Robert Kardashian.
“The Juice” closed out the video by wishing his 574,000 followers a “Happy Father’s Day” and telling them to “take care.”
“Father’s day is cancelled,” joked one Twitter user.
Simpson denied ever sleeping with Kris Jenner — let alone fathering one of her daughters, Khloé.
The If I Did It author called reports about the alleged tryst “bogus, bad, tasteless” in a video on his new Twitter account.
“Never, and I want to stress never, in any way shape or form, have I ever had any interest in Kris romantically or sexually,” said the 71-year-old ex-NFL star, adding: “and I never got any indication that she ever had any interest in me.”
“The Juice” said Kris’ ex-husband Robert Kardashian — who died of cancer in 2003 — was “like a brother” to him.
Addressing rumours that Khloé is his daughter, Simpson said: “Khloé like all the girls, I’m very proud of, just like I know Bob would be if he was here, but facts of the matter is she’s not mine.”
