Kim Kardashian’s unexpected look at the Vanity Fair Oscar Party got fans talking for the wrong reasons.

Kim Kardashian turned heads on the Vanity Fair Oscar Party 2025 red carpet, wearing a white, wedding-like Balenciaga haute couture ball gown that got fans talking.

The Kardashians star, 44, paired her paper-like look with a slicked-back bun, natural makeup and left all accessories at home — almost as if she rolled out of bed and wrapped herself in a bed sheet before stepping onto the carpet, Page Six reports.

In fact, the gown was made out of Tyvek, a high-density type of polyethylene that’s used in house wrap, personal protective equipment, medical packaging and more.

Vanity Fair shared Kardashian’s look on Instagram, where fans immediately criticised the wrinkled look in the comments.

“Like the fitted sheet no one can fold,” one user wrote. Another shared, “Toilet paper and a terrible tan.”

“Spare a square?,” asked a third while a fourth dubbed her “Kleenex Kardashian”.

Inside the party, Kardashian met up with sisters Kendall Jenner and Kylie Jenner, who both went with black lace gowns courtesy of Thierry Mugler and Ashi Studios, respectively.

Kim, however, was going for a more ethereal look, posting her outfit on X with the caption, “Kimsaprincess,” referring to her LLC name.

Her appearance comes one day after the Skims founder looked stunning at the Chanel pre-Oscar party in a vintage corsetted minidress from 1992 and bows tied in her waist-grazing ponytail.

She also recently enjoyed a vacation in Jamaica, where she was spotted rolling around on the beach modelling multiple different sultry bikini looks.

In one shot she took a walk on the wild side in a leopard-printed two piece and, in another, she paired cheeky blue bottoms with a wet T-shirt top.

She’s also been super busy in business, recently announcing that her Skims brand will team up with Nike for a new activewear brand, launching this spring.

Kardashian has been a fixture at the Vanity Fair Oscar party for multiple years, including 2024, when she went sleek in a sculptural white Balenciaga gown with a sharp point that somewhat resembled a dinner napkin.

Inside the party, the Skkn by Kim founder appeared to let loose as she was spotted leaving the famed party with then-fling Odell Beckham Jr. The rumoured couple were also spotted departing Jay-Z and Beyoncé’s afterparty together later in the night.

While the star has been keeping mum about her love life lately, she has teased her relationship with a mystery man on her Hulu show. In December, Page Six exclusively reported that Kardashian’s beau is a real estate investor who’s not in the public eye.
