DOJ Won’t Scrub Trump From Epstein Files, Top Official Says—Amid Criticism Of Heavy Redactions

“There’s no effort to hold anything back because there’s the name Donald J. Trump or anybody else’s name, Bill Clinton’s name, Reid Hoffman’s name . . . we’re not redacting the names of famous men and women that are associated with Epstein,” Blanche told ABC News in an interview published Saturday.

When asked if all documents that mention Trump will be made public, Blanche said, “assuming it’s consistent with the law, yes.”

The Justice Department released a massive trove of documents Friday, including photos, videos, flight logs, phone records and court documents, to comply with a law Congress passed last month requiring it to release its investigatory files related to Epstein and his co-conspirator Ghislaine Maxwell.

Blanche said earlier Friday, before the documents were made public, more files would be released in the coming weeks.

The documents are heavily redacted—which the agency said was done to protect victims and withhold materials related to ongoing investigations—and seldom mention Trump.
