8 year oldBlackBerry said last week that it will discuss new hardware very soon. The phone you see above, the BlackBerry Neon, likely the DTEK50 when it hits store shelves, is probably the device that’s going to make headlines when the company starts talking new hardware. Images were accidentally published on BlackBerry’s website, but not before CrackBerry’sreaders could grab a few of them.
The BlackBerry Neon will be the company’s second Android smartphone, following in the footsteps of the BlackBerry Priv. It’s said to sport a relatively mid-range feature set with a Snapdragon 617 processor, a 5.2-inch 1080 display, 13MP/8MP cameras and 3GB of RAM.
Those specs should help keep the price low, which might make the phone more attractive to unlocked smartphone buyers who don’t want to be tied down to a wireless carrier contract. Our guess is we’ll learn more about this phone very soon.
Update: It’s official – BlackBerry just announced the BlackBerry DTEK50.
