7 year oldThe slick new clip, which dropped at midnight, studies the two pop superstars who are living it large but torn-up from separation. It's a tale of emptiness, loneliness and longing, framed in a twilight world which clearly takes style pointers from the Fifty Shades of Grey franchise its connected to.
The video opens with the former One Direction singer stepping out a limo in the rain as paparazzi chase him through a plush hotel. We observe as both Zayn and Taylor face their demons with serious looks, booze and hotel-room frenzies.
"I Don't Wanna Live Forever," which will appear on the Fifty Shades Darker soundtrack, currently sits at No. 8 on the Billboard Hot 100 (dated Feb. 4), two spots shy of its peak when it debuted at No. 6 on the chart dated Dec. 31.
The track dropped without fanfare last December and also reached No. 16 in Zayn's homeland, the U.K., and No. 3 in Australia.
The song was written specifically for the feature film by Swift, Jack Antonoff & Sam Dew and produced by Antonoff.
The much-anticipated Fifty Shades Darker sequel is scheduled to hits theaters Feb. 10. The soundtrack will arrive the same day through Republic Records.
