Shock G is best known for the song The Humpty Dance, and for working with Tupac Shakur.
The rap legend was found dead in a hotel room in Tampa on Thursday, his father Edward Racker said.

TMZ reports his cause of death was unclear, however there were no signs of trauma.
Racker did say that authorities would be conducting an autopsy on his body.
People may remember Shock G as the lead singer for the hip hop group Digital Underground, who would often get into character as his alter ego ‘Humpty Hump’.
The rapper was well-known for his famous collaborations with hip hop legend Tupac Shakur, featuring on his 1993 song I Get Around.
Shock also was one of the producers on Tupac’s 1991 debut solo album, 2Pacalypse Now.
Interestingly, he was one of the people who helped introduce Tupac into the music industry, as he appeared as a member of Digital Underground when featuring in the group’s 1991 song and music video, Same Song.
The deceased rapper Shock G was raised on the East Coast, eventually setting up roots in Oakland.
That was where he formed the group Digital Underground in the late 1980s with Chopmaster J and Kenneth Water.
But his success with Digital Underground and ties with Tupac isn’t all the rapper was known for.
He also produced songs for coveted artists including Dr. Dre, Prince and KRS-One.
Shock G died at 57-years-old.
