Justin Bieber has broken his performance hiatus to put on a show at the pre-wedding party for the son of Asia’s richest man.
The Canadian pop star, 30, was reportedly paid an eye-watering $14 million to perform a one-hour set at a welcome celebration ahead of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s nuptials this weekend, according to India Times.
Anant, 29, is the son of billionaire tycoon Mukesh Ambani, 66, who is the world’s 9th richest man with a net worth of $US113.5 billion, Forbes reports.
He is marrying his long-term girlfriend Merchant, also 29, who is a dancer and internet personality.
Bieber heavily promoted his show at the event in Mumbai, uploading several photos and videos of himself with the happy couple and their friends on Instagram.
It marks a rare showing from the former teen star, who has taken a step back from live performing in recent years after abruptly cancelling his Justice world tour for 2023.
The Sorry singer’s involvement forms only a small part of the power couple’s reported billion-dollar wedding festivities, which kicked off back in March when Rihanna performed at a reception party thrown by the father of the groom, with Mark Zuckerberg and Bill Gates among attendees.
Then, in June, the couple hosted 1200 guests for a multi-day yacht extravaganza across Europe, which included performances from Katy Perry, Pitbull, The Backstreet Boys, David Guetta and Andrea Bocelli.
“It was a retreat for the people that have contributed to our life in different ways,” Radhika told Vogue.
They are officially set to wed on July 12 in Mumbai, which will be followed by a grand reception on July 14.
Anant’s father Mukesh is the president of Reliance Industries energy conglomerate, which reported an annual revenue of $US110 billion in the last financial year.
He made headlines in 2018 when he hired Beyonce to perform at the pre-wedding party of his daughter, Isha Ambani.
Meanwhile, Radhika is the daughter of pharmaceutical tycoon Viren Merchant.
The duo have kept tight lipped on what surprises they have planned for their official wedding day, with reports swirling Adele could be performing.
