8 year oldShimon Peres, the former Israeli president, has suffered a stroke and been rushed to a hospital, his office has said.
It said on Tuesday Peres had been “admitted to the Sheba Medical Center (Tel Hashomer) after suffering a stroke. His condition is stable and he is fully conscious. He is currently receiving medical treatment.”
Peres, 93, has held virtually every senior political office in Israel over a seven-decade career. He stepped down as president in 2014 after completing a seven-year term.
