The subpoena, issued in consultation with the House Foreign Affairs and Oversight panels, seeks documents related to Trump’s efforts to pressure Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to investigate former Vice President Joe Biden, a 2020 Democratic presidential contender. The committees demanded details about Giuliani’s interactions with Trump administration officials stemming from his influence campaign in the Eastern European nation and his alleged role as an intermediary between the American and Ukrainian governments.
