                Washington (AFP) – US President Donald Trump said Friday he no longer feels the need for a summit with Chinese leader Xi Jinping this month, slamming Beijing for hostile trade practices and threatening "massive" tariffs.

                The latest round of talks comes as China said its exports to the U.S. dropped by more than a third in May — the sharpest such decline in more than five years.
                President Trump spoke Thursday with Chinese leader Xi Jinping, calling it a productive conversation with both sides agreeing to meet shortly as they seek to stabilize trade negotiations that have broken down in recent weeks.
                The president had recently aired his frustrations about the state of talks with China.
                President Trump is getting a second chance to try to sever ties with China by starting a trade war, imposing export controls and revoking student visas.
