An American state trooper has been thrown out of a match in South Carolina after a bizarre run in with players on the sideline.

A Texas Department of Public Safety trooper became part of the show during a wild game between Texas A & M and South Carolina on Saturday.

Then, he got sent home.

The bizarre incident happened with less than a minute to go in the first half, just seconds after Gamecocks receiver Nyck Harbor got into the end zone on an 80-yard touchdown catch to put South Carolina up 26-3 over No. 3 Texas A & M, the New York Post reports.

After scoring, Harbor ran up the northeast tunnel at Kyle Field.

As he and a teammate walked back toward the field from inside the tunnel, a Texas state trooper appeared to walk between the pair, bumping shoulders with both, and then turned around and pointed at them, shouting at them in the process.

Texas A & M Police later addressed the incident on social media, stating that the trooper’s day was over.

“We are aware of the incident in the NE tunnel involving a DPS trooper,” the department wrote on X. “He has been relieved of his game day assignment.”

In a statement to The Athletic, the Texas Department of Public Safety said, “The DPS Trooper involved has been sent home from the game. DPS’ Office of Inspector General (OIG) is also aware of the incident and will be further looking into the matter.”

The scene was caught by college football fans across social media, sparking outrage in even The King himself, as LeBron James posted about the incident on X.

“That A & M cop needs to suspended!” James wrote. “That was premeditated and corny AF! He went out his way to start some s – t. Do better man

The game itself ended up being one of the best of the year.

Down 30-3 at halftime, the Aggies staged a massive comeback, winning the game 31-30 to avoid a massive upset and move to 10-0 on the season.
