The world first came to know David (l.) and Louise Turpin in January 2018, when one of their teenaged children, one of 13, escaped from their California home to contact the police and report the abuse the kids, aged 2 to 29, had suffered at the hands of their parents. From starvation to sexual abuse to isolation, the 13 Turpin children had been tortured by their parents up until the arrest of David and Louise that same month. The couple pleaded not guilty to multiple counts of torture, child abuse, dependent adult abuse and false imprisonment dating to 2010. David Turpin also pleaded not guilty to performing a lewd act on a child under age 14.
On Jan. 14, 2018, David and Louise Turpin were arrested in Perris, Calif. after it was discovered the couple had been abusing their 13 children, aged 2 to 29, in a 'house of horrors.' The couple, who routinely starved and isolated their children on top of chaining them to furniture and denying them bathroom usage, were later charged with multiple counts of abuse after their arrest.
